SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) is the inspection system used by the Church of England and Methodist Church to check how well Church schools are living out their Christian vision. This inspection looks at religious education, collective worship, and how well pupils are developing spiritually, morally, socially, and culturally. The aim is to see how the school’s Christian vision helps everyone to flourish.
During the inspection, inspectors will talk with leaders, staff, pupils, parents, and local church representatives. They will look at school policies, pupils’ work, and observe daily life in school to understand how the Christian values shape what the school does. The inspection also considers how the school works with its wider trust and local church community.
Schools are expected to show how their Christian vision fits the needs of their community, how leadership and governance support this vision, and how collective worship and religious education are planned and delivered. The inspection helps schools reflect on their strengths and areas for development in living out their Christian foundation.
