Our Christian Vision and Values
Our Christian Vision
At Warter CE Primary School, we nurture a secure and inspiring foundation where every pupil is empowered to learn, grow and flourish through the Christian values of hope, perseverance, friendship and respect. Rooted in Psalm 40:2.
We strive to equip our pupils with the courage and compassion to stand confidently and make a positive difference within our school, community, and the wider world. Together, we foster a welcoming environment where high expectations and kindness guide us on a lifelong journey of learning and service.
Our guiding beliefs ensure that…
- Children are happy, safe and flourish through enriching, empowering and challenging
- We have a collective commitment to make a positive difference to all in our community acting as agents of change.
- Our high expectations of all are rooted in our values of respect and lived out in our responsibility and
- We provide a safe, welcoming environment for all. Fostering warm relationships with all our families and the local community.
- We provide a positive and secure foundation for our children’s learning journey in education.
How we achieve this…
- Our vision and values are clearly displayed around the school and on all communication and correspondence with our community.
- They are interwoven with the behaviour policy to clearly outline to children the high expectations
- The values are well modelled by staff in school in how we act, communicate and build relationships.
- Our vision and values are rigorously planned into our collective Worship provided to the children.
- A monthly value is shared as a school and planned into curriculum and literacy opportunities for the children to explore.
- Our vision and values are an integral part of our school development plan and the development of staff’s key targets for performance.
- Children are advocates for our values as Values Champions and in their role as Warter Worshippers.
The biblical parable of 'The Wise & Foolish Builders' underpins our vision, providing a foundation of faith and guiding the values, purpose, and direction of our school community.
Our Christian Values
At the heart of our school’s ethos are the Christian values of hope, perseverance, respect and friendship. These values were thoughtfully chosen by our whole school community—staff, children and wider stakeholders—as those that best reflect the kind of environment we strive to create. They underpin every aspect of school life, guiding our relationships, our learning, and the way we grow together. Perseverance, in particular, is a value our children actively reflect on and embody in their daily lives, helping them to approach challenges with determination and resilience.
Hope: Christians see their hope in God’s promise “that love and goodness have, and will ultimately, overcome all evil”. This hope is manifested in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Values for Life, Jumping Fish)
Christian hope is grounded in the love and faithfulness of God. It is a firm confidence that God is a ‘strong rock’ and one whose promises can be trusted.
Psalm 73:26
There is always hope.
Perseverance: An observation by many staff is that our children are determined to reach their potential in all areas of life, therefore ensuring a culture of perseverance is recognised as essential throughout the school.
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
Respect: As a Church school, we value all God’s children. God has created a beautiful world and we respect his creation by being kind to each other and by looking after the environment. We pay attention to each other’s ideas, feelings and possessions, and take care of our school environment.
Matthew 7:12
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you.
Friendship: Christians believe they can call God their friend because of the relationship made possible through Jesus. (Values for Life, Jumping Fish)
‘A friend loves at all times.’ Proverbs 17:17
‘If one falls down, a friend can lift him up’. Ecclesiastes 4:10
