Summer 2022

Who are we?

The Friends of Warter are a group of parents whose aim is to raise funds to assist with the cost of school trips as well as the extras that the school provides for the children to help improve their experience at Warter School.

We also run a second hand uniform shop to help find a home for pre-loved school uniforms.

Where does the money raised go?

We currently pay for the annual Magic Carpet Theatre Production held at the school and contribute 25% to all class trips.

On top of this, we contribute towards various things that benefit all the children in the school. This includes donating £1,000 towards new books for the children and £100 towards each class budget to spend on various learning resources.

In recent years we have bought playground equipment, reading books, IPads, sports equipment, purchase and installation of projector and audio equipment for school hall, purchase new ICT software to support the current curriculum, assist with pantomime costs, forest school expenses, headphones and science software.

What type of events/activities do we do?

In the past couple of years we have organised the following events:
  • Harvest Festival Jarbola
  • Christmas Disco and End of Year Disco
  • Christmas Hamper Raffle
  • Easter Egg Tombola
  • Sponsored Walk for the whole family
  • Non Uniform Days
  • Sports Day Cream Teas
  • School Pantomime DVD and Raffle
  • Dog Show
  • Snow Ball
I am interested, when and where do we meet?

Being part of the committee is not a huge commitment and it is very rewarding as well as a great way to meet other parents and have fun being involved in our fundraising events.

We usually meet on the 2nd week back of each term during the evening at the school and would welcome new members to our friendly team. You may only wish to be involved with one event throughout the year or just come along to find out what is coming up. We welcome any ideas you may have for fundraising events or activities and suggestions on ways to spend money raised. Attending meetings isn't compulsory, you can still be an active member and will be kept up to date by email.
